2% Jazz Coffee began as an outdoor kiosk in 1996. Renowned for great coffee and character, we quickly became a fixture within the community. Then, after years of battling outdoor elements, we decided to open a café just steps from where our kiosk was parked for so long. By 2006, we began roasting our own beans to allow for full control over our coffee program.

In 2012, the Roastery was established in the vibrant heart of the Hudson District, continuing our longstanding tradition of community involvement and local engagement.

Today we are proud to play a significant role in shaping the coffee industry in Victoria through innovation, education, passion and dedication. We’re excited to be involved in your next coffee experience!

Community Kitchen

The Community Kitchen is the heart of the Public Market. Made possible by a grant through Vancity’s EnviroFund, this is the place to see your favourite local or visiting chef do a public demonstration or private cooking class; catch one of the Public Market vendors demonstrating how to bone a fish, make homemade bread, pasta or gelato; or help a non-profit process and preserve the season’s freshest produce.

The Community Kitchen is available for rent 24hrs per day, and fees are on a sliding-scale with the goal of supporting local, food-related non-profits, social enterprises, and community initiatives. Our family-owned, handcrafted, plant-based butchery is located on Denman Island in beautiful British Columbia.
